The City’s Gate PCA seeks to set a table of grace for people in the communities of Harrisburg.
God created humanity with a deep hunger for Him. Throughout the whole Bible, the image of the banquet remains the central image of life—both at life’s creation and in life’s fulfillment: “…that you eat and drink at my table in my kingdom.” For that reason, we seek to set a table of grace where we eat together and are joined by the communities of Harrisburg.
Core Values
The love, truth, and grace of Jesus Christ have been given freely to us, and we are coming to know Him more and more. In gratitude and thanksgiving for the reality of God’s presence, mediated to us by the Incarnate Word of God and the Holy Spirit, ‘who over the bent world broods,’ we seek to reflect Him.
- We strive to welcome all people, and desire to communicate the reconciling love of Christ.
- We seek to meet the needs of people who come to The City’s Gate.
- We affirm that we each bring varied offerings to the table and purpose to develop these gifts to the glory of God.
- We believe that church life, in its banquet-fullness, should include worship, teaching, evangelism, mercy, justice, and fellowship.
- We pursue God’s leading for the direction of the church’s ministries; for in the Scriptures, all of creation is invited to eat and to serve at God’s banquet table.
