Fellowship

Join us for Fellowship

When the people of City’s Gate get together, there is a party.  A strong sense of affinity and friendship characterize our gatherings with lots of laughter and intense conversation.  Our church is a cross-section of Harrisburg with a large share of twenty-something and thirty-something urban and suburban professionals and a mix of singles, married couples and families with children.  Yes, we have a “mature” crowd too—some who even have grandchildren…  We see fellowship not as merely fun gatherings, but as a way we are actually challenged and built-up.  In fact much of our fellowship occurs in the context of serving others in and outside our church and in small groups of various kinds.  If you would like to learn more about serving in this area of our church or would like to know more about fellowship at City’s Gate, please email Tim Wilson, our elder who leads this ministry area.

Congregational Picnic/Pot-luck for Jed, Megan & Peter Slaboda

08/16/2008 - 3:00pm

The Search Committee will be hosting a picnic for the City's Gate and the Slaboda's at the Riverview Pavilion on City Island.

It is our hope that this informal time together will provide an opportunity for the congregation of the City's Gate to get to know Jed, Megan and Peter through conversation, play and sharing a meal together, as well as a time of fellowship as a church.

City Island offers many family-friendly attractions, including batting cages, a beach, and playgrounds as well as stroller- and bike- friendly paths. The Carousel Pavilion is located on the City Island. For those who have not yet visited City Island, a list of attractions, activities and vendors can be found on their website.

Art Exhibit

During the month of July at the Gallery at Walnut Place, there will be an exhibition of artwork by Frank Hummel.  His work will be on display with that of another artist named Mark Ravago. The gallery is open daily between 11 am and 3 pm.  There will be a Saturday night reception on July 12th from 5 - 8 pm.
